Good work. Great fun.
Kid Central TN
Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam’s Children’s Cabinet wanted to enhance parent outreach and engagement statewide.
An audit of six state departments’ communications programs, statewide focus groups, and online surveys revealed that Tennessee parents wanted to hear from the state but didn’t know where to look consistently.
The agency team recommended a consumer-branded, streamlined platform through which all parent outreach could flow to ensure vital comms were easy to discover and consume.

StrongWell
Parent company 180 Health Partners created an innovative new model for helping substance-dependent, expecting mothers ensure the best possible outcomes for their babies. They needed help positioning their offering in a way that would not only resonate with this ‘hidden in plain sight’ audience but would reduce the social stigmas associated with addiction.
We couldn’t conduct audience research with the core target for obvious ethical reasons. But I could interview women who had achieved four years of sobriety. The most impactful learning from these conversations was that, while society often views people struggling with addiction as weak, it’s when people are at the height of their addiction that they’re garnering all their strength to stay in the fight for their lives.
With this insight, I worked with a creative duo to develop a brand positioning that directly addressed the target audience’s hidden strength. A renaming exercise resulted in the name StrongWell, and we built the brand from there, working with iostudio out of Nashville to develop the website, app, and social media assets.

Bree & Associates Real Estate
Real Estate agent Bree Phillips was setting out on her own and growing her team of agents in one of Oregon’s burgeoning coastal regions. A savvy leader, Bree had a clear vision for the kind of business she wanted to create, but she wanted her team’s input and buy-in from the earliest stages of brand-building.
A day-long team workshop, followed by a series of 1:1 developmental sessions, produced a brand positioning framework and messaging strategy that the company and each agent have scaled to grow their following, marketing, and sales.

Stonerise
When Stonerise’s Director of Marketing came to me in 2019, the transitional healthcare company had grown so quickly that leadership was struggling to tell Stonerise’s brand story internally across its skilled nursing facilities, home health, and hospice offerings.
Stakeholder interviews, market research, competitive analysis, and detail-focused workshops produced a brand story and messaging framework that leadership aligned with and the Director of Marketing deployed internally.
When COVID-19 hit, this brand messaging was foundational for crisis communications. As the pandemic subsided and business needs shifted to employee retention and recruitment, the same brand messaging informed employee comms and social media recruitment marketing campaigns.
*NOTE: Stonerise Healthcare has since been acquired and is now Stonerise Home Health and Hospice.
